Live Like Cleadus
It started with a kidney... His dad needed one and he had two. In his head, the math was obvious. In 2009 Cleadus donated a kidney to his father Bruce (Woody), gifting him an extra decade of grandkid hugs, Mexican food, and family vacations. When Cleadus unexpectedly passed away in 2024, he again donated his heart, kidney, liver and tissue, bringing life and joy to multiple families.
Who was Cleadus?
David “Cleadus” Woodbury (August 28, 1978 – December 13, 2024) was everyone’s best friend. He lived life to the fullest. He cherished being with his beautiful wife Lisa and three wonderful children: Grace, Jane and Max. He enjoyed nature. He loved Jesus Christ. He spent his life at the University of Utah. He was beloved by all who knew him!
"Everyone who loved Cleadus talked so much about how gracious and down to earth he always was. He was thoughtful, kind and humble. He recognized that everyone is important, everyone was his friend. Relationships were very important to him.
He loved life. He used every moment to do special things and make memories with his family. He took them on trips every chance they got. Cleadus was like that. He made every minute count. We called him our “Ambassador of Fun”. He loved everybody and everybody loved him."

Nancy Woodbury - Mother
"Cleadus is one of the most genuine, kind, Christ-like people that I have had the pleasure of knowing. I feel very lucky to have been friends with him since 1995. Also, he was an incredible friend to my brother Brady. Brady was born with muscular dystrophy and was confined to a wheel chair. Cleadus would take him for ice cream , football games, mission farewells, and many other events. Reflecting on that time I cannot even begin to express the gratitude I feel for friends like Cleadus that helped make the few years my brother had in this life truly special."

BJ Blaser - Friend
“Cleadus was a childhood friend who I was lucky enough to go through all the states of life together with until he passed. He brought humor to situations that needed it and added to the experiences we got to share together. He was the embodiment of what a friend is.”

Matthew Seelos - Friend
“Cleadus is literally the friendliest person I have ever known. He literally used the word literally in every conversation we had. He literally taught me how to be a friend and how to overuse a word.”
